This is a pretty large training base of PLA Army’s 81st Group Army under Central Theatre Command in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province. Includes a bunch of old and new facilities including a new heliport with hangars, a small arms firing range, admin and semi-permanent residential areas, trenches, berms and more.
There was a large training exercise, perhaps involving one full brigade or more in 2019. Hundreds of vehicles including trucks, APC/IFV, engineering vehicles and 100s of tents are visible in satellite images.
The trenches and other battle fortifications made during that time seemed to have seen little use since then.
Going by this tender, the facility had some civil works and IT upgrades done in 2017.
