This base in Shule County, Kashgar Prefecture, Xinjiang used to belong to Artillery Regiment of 6th Infantry Division of Xinjiang Military Region. After division’s conversion in to Combined Arms Division structure, the Artillery and Air Defence Regiments of the division were combined to create a new 6th Division’s Firepower Regiment. The base got a pretty huge makeover in the process too.
