After embarrassing failure of Fatah-1 last year, Paki military is spreading Lahori churan of supersonic Fatah-3 missile. They are claiming it to be better than Brahmos just because of claimed higher speed. :)
Now I’m sure many madarasa chaap jihadis will call Brahmos a copy of Oniks. What they pretend to not know is that Brahmos was developed as a joint venture between Russia and India with 51% Indian stake. It is not a stolen or illegally transferred technology like the Cheeni-Paki junk mentioned above. Not that there’s anything wrong with reverse engineering, but one can be expected to not gloat over importing and repainting 2nd copies of Soviet era systems
Fatah-1 is just a repainted Chinese A-100. Chinese never inducted it because of poor performance and instead went for PHL-03, another copy of Russian Smerch. A-100/Fatah-1 was always meant as a cheap system for low budget militaries, warlords etc. Pakis fired dozens of these projectiles and not a single one could hit even huge targets like airbases, with most swatted out of the skies by Indian air defence systems.
There was also a funny video of Paki soldiers scampering around after a malfunction during live fires
Now Fatah-3 is supposed to do what Fatah-1 couldn’t and they are claiming that a cruise missile with solid fuelled ramjet :)) is going to have better speed, control and maneuverability than a liquid fuelled one. That madrassa logic aside, just like Fatah-1, Fatah-3 is just 2nd tier Chinese product which was proven to be too inferior for use by PLA and manufacturing was kept on solely for exports to low budget entities.
This Chinese missile is called HD-1 and the company which developed it is actually a mining company which does weapons development as a side hustle.
Another similar big ticket item which Chinese didn’t induct, but Pakis did is JF-17. It also performed pretty poorly in live combat. Atleast 2 were shot down while trying to destroy an Indian S-400. At least 1 or 2 others were shot down elsewhere during combat operations. Pakis did try to cover up the embarrassing failure by claiming that many countries were interested in purchasing it, but it all turned out to be just white lies.
Nobody cares to answer If JF-17, J-10 performed so well, then why are they scampering to induct J-35s instead of more of the older ones? :)
Funnily, Chinese ripping off Pakis by selling them obsolete and inferior weaponary isn’t even a new thing. The nukes they sold to Pakis were copies of Soviet designs from early 1960s. Paki ballistic missiles, Ghaznavi (Hatf-III) and Shaheen-1 (Hatf-IV) are repainted Chinese M-11/DF-11 and M-9/DF-5 respectively. DF-11 was a development of old Soviet Scuds and were being phased out of Chinese service when Pakis bought them.
